Wanna Look Younger?

Here are a few easy ways you can update your look and achieve this:

I love foundation but … Go lightly! WET your makeup sponge with water or a Rosewater before you apply your foundation for a more “natural look”. Creamy formulas or a light mineral liquid foundation work best! If you like a powder foundation simply apply it with a kabuki powder brush instead of a sponge.

Invest in a good eyelash curler! It perks those lashes up and curls them too.

Using an eyelash curler is like a boob job for your lashes!

Go easy on your blush. Use a cream or gel formula. If you use a powder apply your blush with a fan brush.

Creamy formulas give you a more natural rosy healthy glow!

Choose mascara in rich navy, purple or green hues. If you must use brown instead. Black makes your eyes defined but can make your eyes look tired and appear smaller.

* I like to mix and match mascara on my 50 plus clients especially. Navy mixed with a coat of black is softer than a straight black hue. Deep purple on bottom lashes will make whites of the eyes brighter and under eyes fresh!

Play up your eyes with a bit of tinted mascara!

Don’t over tease or over spray your hair you’ll look outdated. Get haircuts on a regular basis. Nothing ages you faster than dry unkept hair. If you dare get a bob haircut or lighten up on the length of your locks.

Gloss those 👄 lips! After applying lipstick apply a dash of a shiny hydrating lip gloss in the center top and bottom of your lips.

Gloss on!

Nail polish 💅 in softer hues don’t need much maintenance or show chips easily. A pearl, champagne, silver, icy pink or blue will update you too!

Choose lighter or medium shades as they are more youthful looking! Your skin will look better too!

Keep up with your neck! We’re all getting a tech neck by looking down at our phones or hunching over a computer. It’s time to invest in a neck cream.

Happy, hydrated skin looks younger.

Keep smiling! 😎 Let people wonder what you’re up to!

Using sunless tanner?

Here’s a reminder I always tell my clients when they use self tanner or get a spray tan.

Two things…Exfoliate your skin first!

I also follow this up with a sheet mask on my face and décolleté.

I am crazy about an exfoliate brand from Japan available in the US. It is called Cure Natural Aqua Gel. It is a clear gel that you apply on clean skin.

This is a must for self tanner to look good. It also is a good idea for any makeup you wear to glide on like silk!

After you apply you let it dry and leave on at least 3 minutes.

And gently roll off/ sloughing and saying bye to those dead skin cells. Rinse well.

I also love to use this product on a photo shoot and on a bride or bridal party working on location.

It is so easy to use. No harsh granuals and can even be used under the eye area.

I have very sensitive skin but this product gives me only fabulous non irritating results. Natural! Check them out on Instagram. That’s how I discovered them.

Next…

You must up that shade of foundation or even tinted moisturizer hue OR your neck and chest will not match nor be even in tone.

Buy a darker foundation!

I see so many girls miss the mark on this and the look isn’t very pretty! You’ll have a lighter neck and tan face and body. Sometimes you might need to buy another darker foundation as well.

As we roll into the summer think about keeping a safe tan and not bake like a dozen cookies 🍪 in the oven. They smell and taste great … can burn too. And as for a tan the end result you may develop more than a tan. As a skin cancer survivor. I know.

Tips for Tired Eyes!

Our eyes say so much about us and will scream TIRED in a hot minute. Here are a few ideas you can use to remedy them in a flash! I use them on myself, celebrity clients, mommies and on photo shoots.

Eye gel masks are instant face lifts for the eyes. They fit perfectly under your eyes and are drenched in hydrating puff relieving goodness.

Fresh 🥒 Cucumbers. Do they really work?

Yes they do! I not only use them by the slices on the entire eye area. I also like to freeze 🥶 or (refrigerate them) them. Next, allow them to thaw a moment and place to refresh the eyes for at least 20 minutes. They are a natural diuretic.

Another remedy for tired eyes is by using Denim Blue mascara. I like to use it alone or OVER a black or dark brown mascara. Makes the whites of the eyes appear brighter. And the dark circle under eyes say BYE BYE.

*Same is true for eyeliner. The darker the shade the smaller your eyes will look. Look for a denim blue, sienna brown or gray. Or try a brighter color for that unexpected pop of color.

A salmon, yellow or caramel concealer depending on your coloring will tone down those tired looking eyelids and under eyes. Say Hello to Brighter Eyes. Sometime our under eyes aren’t just the issue it is the eye lid too. Use tap and press motions to apply.

If you want definition but don’t want an actual pigmented mascara… try a simple CLEAR mascara. You’ll gently define the lashes. But no color.

If you have sensitive eyes and you have an allergic reaction to an eye shadow. Try a tiny scoop from a fresh aloe plant. Takes away itchiness and calms redness too.

*Did you know that purple, lilac and very bright pink eye shadows can cause allergic reactions?

Let a good nights sleep 😴 be your nighttime goal. Don’t burn yourself out pulling long nights out or not getting enough rest.

Tips and Tricks…The Business of Lipstick

When it comes to makeup…Lipstick has always been a passion of mine. I love helping women select a hue and all things for the lips too. I must have fifty lipsticks on my vanity and I use them ALL!

My mantra is ‘A woman without lipstick is like a day without sunshine.”

Lipstick gives instant gratification and brightens the complexion. Applying lipstick is a quick demo that sells! Get your piece of the pie and start retailing lipsticks and for the lips!

When a woman is blue, she knows just what to do. She buys herself a new lipstick!

Even if you do not retail make-up, think about carrying a brand of lipsticks. Get your piece of the pie and start retailing lipsticks and more! If you already carry lipsticks. Bravo for you!

Lipstick is a cheap thrill. Carry a nice array of shades. If you do not retail lipsticks after they leave your spa, they are buying it elsewhere.

  • A survey says 75% of women believe that wearing lipstick improves their confidence and makes them look & feel better.
  • Lip stain lipsticks in all kinds of hues or glossy stains are all the rage and last longer on the lips than regular lipsticks. Carry at least one brand of them. Do not miss carrying this big seller.
  • Teach your clients how to savor the last drop of their lipstick or lip balm or ones that have melted, broken or been discontinued. A great idea is to retail (empty) lip palettes for your clients to store their lip products. They can mix & match colors like a makeup PRO with a case like this and a lip brush. Eco friendly and good for the planet too. They love this idea.
  • A lip brush offers a professional application and makes the clients lip shade look better and last longer on the lips. Consider carrying them too.
  • Little old ladies rub their lips together after applying their lipstick. Show your clients how to blot their lips as old Hollywood makeup artists did. Then the color will not stick to the teeth.
  • Most women wear a lipstick but they may not use a lip conditioner. Turn them on to one and professionally recommend they use it at night before they go to sleep.
  • Slow business months or tough economic times lipsticks are always profitable.
  • Lip products do not take up a lot of space and are a wonderful impulse item!
  • Lip pencils give shape and definition to the mouth and make the lipstick stay within the lip outline. They are still on trend and in but steer clear from those dark liner hues.
  • Lipstick Base is like foundation for your lips! It helps to keep the lipstick color remain true and not feather outside the lip line.
  • Tinted Lip-gloss can be substituted for a blush when blended quickly on your cheek and tap with warmth of your finger in a little rosy healthy rosy glow circle. Clients love when you share these type of beauty tips!
  • To make the lips look fuller…outline the lips with liner slightly outside the lip line, which makes them appear fuller.
  • To makes, lips look smaller…apply lip liner inside the rim of the lip to make the lips appear smaller.
  • Add some shimmer lipsticks to your collection for a sexy perfect pout. Illuminates the lips.
  • Teach your clients …the darker the lipstick she wears the smaller her lips will appear.
  • The lighter or more medium tone lipstick your client wears the larger the lips will appear.
  • Beauty Flashback…invisible lip liner is back in a big way and magically keeps lipstick or gloss from running down out of the lip area.
  • Have your clients kiss their lips good night with a super hydrating lip treatment
  • Cracked dry flaky lips need some love with a little TLC vitamin C or E lip treatment to correct the problem. May be used alone or under a lipstick. Men love it too.
  • KBeauty Gel Lip masks are amazing and are great for retailing or for an add on –service to your facials. Great for sun damaged lips and for smokers and those who puff and vape too.

My Tips and Tricks for Perfect Lips:

Perfect – exfoliate with above recipe or a lip exfoliator for a smooth lip canvas.

Prep – with a lip base or lip primer to keep the lipstick lasting and color remain true.83MV9352

Apply –shape the lips with lip liner first and fill in with lipstick or colored lip-gloss.

Shine –Add a dash of gloss in center of the lips.

*For an extra sexy, pout. Add a powder highlighter or light shimmery eye shadow to the center of her lips. This is a secret from makeup artists from Fashion Week all over the globe. As well as magazines and that amazing lingerie show that we see on TV every year.

As you can see, I am mad about making up the lips and sell many lipsticks to my clients in my business too. It is my fave part of the face to apply makeup too. I hope I have renewed your beauty passion and that you will love selling them too.
