It was cold weather outside (snow did not come our way although it threatens to) but a fabulous show inside this year.
It felt like the good old beauty show days. You know before Covid arrived! There were miles of aisles of skin care some tried and true brands like Repechage and FarmHouseFresh and many NEW brands have emerged. I could hardly get through the aisles as it was so crowded. It’s like Fashion Week but for beauty & skin professionals.
I taught a makeup class that was teaching the beauty professional makeup and skincare needs Just for MEN. The everyday guy!
Make-up Artists and esthetician’s from around the world 🌎 attend this PRO, beauty and spa business owners allowed only show. Our classes are filled with eager to learn attendees. They come to be inspired, learn and best of all shop the massive show floor.
As I quickly discovered at the show and back home in New York City, Spring into summer 2023 is all about healthy skin. And same goes for fashion too. Natural makeup allowing your skin to shine through and on the other side of the natural makeup rainbow 🌈 are some pretty bold hues. You can be soft and pretty one day and bold and beautiful the next. It all depends upon your mood.
I will design and show my clients a more natural look with a touch of pink, gold and rose gold metallics.
I will also encourage them to tone down ALL those steps to their skin care regime. Some girls and women are using so many products that I think their skin is getting so confused! Too many choices and they think they need it all. But they don’t.
“Fluffy” Brows are in! Microblading is in! Lip Blushing is in!
Waxing every part of the body seems to be in.
Tattoos are a part of a woman and man’s lifestyle now it seems more then ever! While it’s never been for me it has captured and attracted women, men and teens!
Permanent Makeup like “Lip Blushing” is hot right now over Botox. It’s amazing what it can do for a woman’s lips!
“Self-care” is on the rise. Finally we are taking the time to take better care of ourselves and try new things. Covid had something to do with that as we were forced to be home for a bit. I think that was the only good part about it.
So, think about your look for Spring or if you’re a beauty Pro what looks you want to show and create for your clients.
Spring is all about trying new things. Bloom 🍃 on into a new season of our lives!!

I have been working and playing in my beauty haul from the IECSC show from New York City a few weeks ago. The show was so awesome and so were the classes and booths!!!
People …you know the beauty PROS,spa and salon owners filled the floor and were excited like me to explore!
SKIN-CARE ruled the show floor. Makeup was there but skin care ruled.
Bonblissity is the IT girl on the show floor for a updated mani and pedi or self care at home. I was lured over to take part in a demo where they shared how simple and wonderful your hands can look in a flash.
The owner placed a colorful tiny sugar like cube in my hands. Next, they had me dip my hands in a bowl of warm water and rub the cube into my palms and tops of my hands and nail beds. OH MY! What an aromatic and exfoliating high!
Next, I felt the skin softening and skin loving ingredients do their magic. After I did this a few minutes he rinsed my hands. I WAS ABSOLUTLEY AMAZED at the way my skin felt. I could only imagine how luxurious it would feel on my feet in a pedicure at home or at the spa or salon.

Lemongrass,Satsuma,Brown Sugar,Lavender,Ocean Mist and more. GREAT item to retail in your spa or nail salon if you are a business owner.
Face masks, masks and sheet masks galore …KBeauty (Korean Beauty) IS alive and kicking.
There were so many face masks I have yet to try. Floral based like rose,plant-based like aloe,veggie based like tomatoes and even spice based Tumeric from our kitchen was infused in a sheet mask.
I had to buy one of everything to test drive. Tonight after a stressful week I am going to enjoy the aromatherapy based lavender sheet mask.
Esthemax had a fabulous booth. The team was dressed alike in the hottest pant suit style and they were PACKED! If you know the infamous Jelly Masks you’ll flip over the new additions I found. Next time you go to a spa or salon ask them if they do this mask in their face or body protocol. AMAZING. Your skin will glow like you never knew it could. Once you have one of these facial treatment masks for face (and body) you’ll want them even more. Your makeup will glide on like butter on a hot biscuit.
FarmHouse Fresh Goods ALWAYS delivers and they continue to bring it for body and now face and lip care. There booth had this giant Selfie backdrop that I could not resist taking a picture of. I have grown to love all their body products. Especially Oprah’s favorite Honey 🍯 Heel Glaze and the infamous Whoopie Cream hand and body lotion.

This soap has many benefits to the skin. It brightens and nurtures the skin as well as make your pores a bit smaller and skin tighter too!
My clients are DM’ing me and asking me if they should throw out their makeup and skin care as we started a new year and part of these questions included using these. I knew the answer right away is “No”.
Body loofahs, mini face loofahs and those fluffy colorful scrubbers for body & 🛁 bath. They say they exfoliate the skin and yes they maybe add some colorful fun to your bath or shower but that’s it. They are not the best thing to use. And they are a breading ground for bacteria and fungi to grow. They collect moisture too. They may even cause skin infections. They hurt the skin not help the skin! And IF you happen to have acne or blemished skin they really are not your friend!
Bath & Body fluffy scrubbers and more … can hurt and scratch the skin and more!
But I do love to brush my skin with a body brush GENTLY! I love ❤️ what they call “Dry“ brushing and exfoliating treatments like they do in Turkish SPAS and other places around the globe.
So if you love your skin don’t use those natural loofahs and squishy scrubbers. Instead I recommend a good quality cotton washcloth. They are your face and body’s worker 🐝 bee!
So… you know what to do. Go to your bathroom and just throw those abrasive things out!
