When did you get your last one?

It is skin cancer awareness month and it is time to remind ourselves to pick up a new tube of your fave sunscreen.

No, last years Sunscreen ๐Ÿงด tube wonโ€™t work. Old, once opened or if stored in a bright, warm or hot place it has lost its potency to protect. The formulas not the same. You need to start fresh!

People in Florida have begun to go to the beach ๐Ÿ– again and signs They have been there are are showing. I see red lobster ๐Ÿฆž faces, peeling faces, dry inflamed skin. It isnโ€™t very pretty as they race to chase the sun and a bit of color. I realize people are restless. A pandemic isnโ€™t much fun is it?

But SKIN CANCER is probably worse. Especially if it is Melanoma. Skin cancer can be fatal. Protect that baby and your children and your own skin! DAILY not just during skin cancer awareness month. While you are at it call your dermatologist and book your annual exam. Mine is booked later this month.

If you own a spa, salon or beauty business and youโ€™re back open again or have an online shop. Consider retailing sun ๐ŸŒž protection. Sunscreen & Bronzer are a winning combination!

I often hear women ask… What is your beauty secret for looking younger? Or I want to look younger fast! What can I do?

I think you know the answer. Skin cancer is a sneaky disease. Arm yourself! Please wear SUNSCREEN and throw on some shade too! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

You CAN enjoy the sunshine. You just need to do it wisely.

Yummy!

Yesterday I went grocery ๐Ÿ›’ shopping…we put it off and couldn’t wait any longer.

It it is a battleground out there for food and drink! I couldn’t find so many things and we paid a fortune for paper towels! $22.00 for six rolls ๐Ÿ’ด

I wanted coconut water ๐Ÿ’ฆ but could not find any. So, I decided to make it at home. I was craving all things coconut, like a coconut granola mix, coconut ๐Ÿฅฅ and aรงaรญ bowl and coconut water.

I also love the coconut chips from Trader Joe’s… they are delicious to snack on and remind me of my time spent in Hawaii.

I loved the quaint little stands in the roadside that sold them fresh and twisted from the

A healthy DIY and hydration ritual you’ll so enjoy!

Add ice to a pretty tall glass of it and maybe float a cherry ๐Ÿ’ on top and enjoy!

Wow! What a week!

To all my followers who are not in the SPA or beauty business. Can you show me and raise your hands here by posting a reply?

I want to share some awesome beauty secrets with you.

To all my followers in the SPA and beauty business:

The International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference in the one and only NYC and the International Beauty Show have come and gone. But they were both cancelled before it even began. The Governor declared the city that never sleeps a state of emergency. This Covid-19 virus is taking a toll on all our lives and for the sake of attendees, vendors and educators health … it was best for the company to cancel the show.

It was going to be an awesome conference. The massive show floor. The classes from an amazing array of educators!

I so wanted to bring the best of skin and beauty and all that’s NEW back to you!

But the FABULOUS good news they are rescheduling the show for 2020!!!

Stay tuned for INFORMATIONย  and dates and more.

Honey ๐Ÿฏ Face

My clients are crying as their lips and skin are so dry! But today it is in the 80’s in Florida so go figure I am actually sweating after picking rosemary from my garden for dinner.

Winter is not pretty nor kind to our skin!

So this is what I do for my clients skin OR recommend they give to themselves in a pinch while at home.

Honey Face and Lip MASK

  • Wrap the clients cleansed face with a warm steamed wet towel. Leave the towel on at least 3 minutes allowing the client to relax a bit.
  • Remove the towel.
  • Apply organic honey to the face and neck.
  • Leave on the face at least 10 minutes.
  • Remove the honey mask with a warm wet steamed towel.
  • Follow up with a Rosewater skin toner.
  • Apply a light moisturizer.
  • And a dash of an eye gel.

A sweet simple delight! Your clients will โค๏ธlove!

* Please note: Ask the client if they are allergic to honey or anything ALWAYS do a patch test first. Oh and by the way, you may use this on this lips too. Great for smokers lips, dehydrated lips and peeling flaky lips. Add a dash of organic brown sugar and rub on the lips for an on the cheap lip scrub. My little miracle workers!

Sometimes the simple things found in nature and the farmers market can make all the difference!

I discovered this recipe by Celebrity facialist and founder of Joanna Vargas Salon and Skincare Collection. Iโ€™ve always wanted to get a facial appointment with her in NYC but always ran out if time as work got in the way!

She promises this recipe revives the mind but gives our complexion a nutrient rich and hydrating boost! She drinks this 4:00 PM for tired skin and tired bodies.

If youโ€™re ever in NYC get an appointment for her iconic facial services.

When life gives you lots of ๐Ÿ‹ lemons…

My husband bought me not one but two lemon trees ๐ŸŒณ a few months ago. I am enjoying my life with lemons so much! One tree is outside my business door and another is in my backyard.

So, I get creative and make things!

I usually kill plants cause I work so much in and out of town. But I am on a roll with aloe plants and lemon trees. They are not only surviving they are thriving!!!food healthy nature water

One of the things I have made is a Lemon Facial Toner.

If you want to make some for yourself or your clients here is a recipe.

What you will need is:

2 fresh lemons (lemon peels only)

1 cup of  bottled water

Place lemon peels in a pitcher. I prefer using a small glass one.

Add the water.

Cover and leave this mixture alone for at least 10 hours or overnight.

Strain the liquid through a coffee filter and pour into a clean and sterilized bottle. This refreshing toner will last up to two weeks.

Apply to your face with a flat cotton pad round.

Don’t use on acne or rosacea. Just to be on the age side.

Next up…Sparkling lemon water!

You don’t need to buy the lemon flavored sparkling water. You simply need sparkling water ๐Ÿ’ฆ that you added lemon ๐Ÿ‹ slices too! So delightful and really quenches the thirst.

Serve in a wine goblet or antique shop glassware. Feel like royalty. My clients and family love this! And a fresh mint ๐Ÿƒ leaf for decor.

Lemons are so detoxifying and great for your health.

Hot Tea with a lemon wedge

Nothing like hot tea ๐Ÿต with ๐Ÿ‹.

Now, traditionally I’m not talking Asian tea. I’m talking. Regular tea. And always served in a pretty cup.

Who doesn’t love ๐Ÿ’• to hear the sound of the saucer and cup clinking? Music ๐ŸŽถ to my ears! And makes people feel so special while sipping away.

I hope you enjoy ๐Ÿ˜Š and add some lemons ๐Ÿ‹ to your day!

Multi-masking works magic on the skin!

Two of my fav’ recipes for a Multi-Masking are below.

My clients often say they have very sensitive skin so for them to love the skin and face they own I like to mix and match face masks. Customizing by hand is so much fun!

I like to make one mask for the T-zone and maybe another on the cheeks. It just depends on what the skin is doing and looking like.

Being Eurasian and love all things Asian. I loveย  to use Matcha Powder and a dash of fresh aloe from my outdoor garden or window garden.

What you will need is:

1 teaspoon of matcha powder

3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (from the plant)

Stir the two together. Apply on a clean face.

Leave on at least 15 minutes and rinse with luke warm water and a wash cloth.

The skin will love it!

Lavender Bud Pore Refining Clay Mask

1 teaspoon of bentonite clay

A dash of water say 1/3 of a cup (I eyeball)

A few pieces of lavender buds

Mix all together and make a liquidy paste-like mask.

Apply on a clean face. This aromatherapy mask and clay will make the pores more refined and temporarily tighten the skin.

Leave on the face at least 10-15 minutes. Rinse well ๐Ÿงฝ . Next use your skin toner on a cotton pad and a dash of moisturizer.

The skin will look amazing and the lavender scent will smell and be so relaxing while it dries.

Use on your skin or on your clients.

Take care of your face. It’s the only one you’ve got!

PS

These recipes are from my beauty book coming out in 2020. I hope you’ll enjoy them and stay tuned for more.
