A Berry Beautiful … Multi–tasking Face Mask

My skin is hot and cold and slightly dehydrated . From New York to Florida to back to NY and now in Chicago Illinois.

It’s still not spring in Chicago! It snowed here on Friday. So, multi-masking is always a good idea.

What I whipped up for my skin:

2 tablespoons of Greek plain yogurt

1/2 cup of fresh blackberries or you can use frozen mixed berries

2 tablespoons of local honey 🍯

Next blend the above ingredients in a bowl and pour into a blender.

*Or use a frother (you know like you use to make coffee, chai tea or cream foam)

Apply this DIY kitchen mask on a clean freshly washed face and also apply it to your neck and decolette.

Leave mask on at least 10mins.

Rinse well. Apply your favorite moisturizer.

This mask is rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins! The fresh yogurt kisses dead skin “Goodbye” and the honey makes your skin baby soft.

You’ll want to eat this yummy mask. You can but don’t.

My husband wanted this mask too so I made a bit more. By adding more blackberries.

Then I applied 👁 a gel eye mask to our eyes and we listened to music and enjoyed how wonderful our skin felt and eye area refreshed.

A delicious anti/aging mask!

Foot 🦶 Facial at home!

I love helping my clients look and feel amazing! So, since a few of you have asked for another recipe for the feet… here goes!

Best of all it is a UNISEX treat!

All you have to do is put all these ingredients together and head to your bathroom or a cozy chair, the bathtub or an area you can get a little messy in until you rinse it away.

1/4 cup of oatmeal

1/4 cup of cornmeal

3 tablespoons of grape seed or sunflower 🌻 oil

2 tablespoons of Himalayan sea salt or brown sugar

Stir all of the above together. If it is too thick you can water it down with a few sprinkles of water 💦. Stir again.

Apply and rub mixture gently on clean feet. I like to go up to the ankles too. Pay attention to the heels as well.

Allow this DIY treat to set and be on the feet at least 15 minutes.

Rinse with lukewarm and wet towels or larger wash cloth.

The oatmeal softens, the oil gives you enough slip to move around the foot and lower part of the legs, corneal and salt exfoliate. Your feet and ankles will be nourished, hydrated and softer. It’s Self-Care Sunday!

Let’s try and make every day a self-care day. But if you can’t at least do one or two fabulous things for yourself on one day.

It’s that time…Self-Care Sunday!

Do you have dry or moody skin, allergies and want to purify the air or still staying indoors more now with the pandemic.

CLEAR THE AIR and your mind.

Treat yourself to a soothing aromatherapy lamp. I recommend you buy one that changes colors as it is mood lifting and for me life changing!

So pretty to look at and relax to. Really helps with your mood and stress. The rainbow of shades illuminate the room while the essential oil helps with allergens in the air. I own and love the lamp by CHI …the iconic brand of hair care and styling tools.

I think of this lamp as a drink of water for the skin.

The picture below is not the CHI brand but a peek at how these lamps emit a mist to purify the the air. My favorite essential oil is the calming lavender scent but they have others.

So if you want to amp up your space with something new! You know what to do. And is good for your health too!

Comforting!

It’s been quite a week. And I find my clients and I are stressed. Perhaps you are too! Life is tough right now.
So, I have recommended they explore a few flowery herbs to keep calm and comforted that I use. I hope you enjoy and find comfort in them too.
I use fresh lavender. I use the buds to make sachets and tuck them in my pillow case. So de-stressing! The aroma is addictive.I also love to sprinkle it on fresh baked sugar cookies just before they are done. So pretty.

The relaxing beauty of chamomile. Another gem is chamomile. I love it as a tea 🍵 with a dash of honey or agave nectar. Very relaxing. I also find it wonderful as a tea bag compress on the eyes to relax and to help those puffy eyes. Simply enjoy a cup of the tea and save the used tea bag. Apply it to your eye area once it has cooled do my use it hot from tea cup. Chill out for ten minutes.

Next up are rose 🌹 petals I love to pull them off the stem and make rose potpourri by drying the petals. I find this very relaxing and a creative time. And after it’s dried out I sprinkle them with a few dashes of rose essential oil. Place in a small bowl or sweet basket. So lovely and a relaxing light scent at your bedroom nightstand.
