😎 Keep Cool!

Oh it’s so HOT and steamy outside! Isn’t it?

Summer heat is coming in hot!

When out of town I made myself a cocktail and facial slushee in my hotel room. Yes even on the road I love to whip up treats for my husbands and my skin. We both can’t seem to cool down and our eyes are puffy from all the salty snacks and yummy food.

You know puffy eyes are caused by water retention. A cold, allergies, food, drinking alcohol and jet ✈️ lag all can give you unwanted puffy eyes!

A few Cucumber recipes to cool you off!

So πŸ₯’ cucumbers to the rescue!

I ❀️ love to use cucumbers for puffy eyes, beverages, as a snack and in delicious salads I so enjoy.

It is such a cool and delicious treat to use on your eye lids abs under puffy eyes and to eat.

What you will need is:

1 fresh cucumber

Ice cubes (crushed)

1 washcloth

Crush ice cubes and add the scooped out cucumber πŸ₯’ pulp.

A cucumber πŸ₯’ and ice slushee is the answer!

Place into a washcloth and lay down on a bed or a recliner. Close your eyes and just chill in more ways than one.We relaxed and did it for 15 minutes.

Another way to cool down is a bottle of Perrier or Italian sparkling πŸ’¦ water like San Pellegrino.

Add some πŸ₯’ cucumber slices and some fresh squeezed lemon πŸ‹ juice. Place a few lemon slices into the glass.

If you’re not traveling and at a hotel. You can do this at home. Make a pitcher of water add lemon πŸ‹ and cucumbers. It is so refreshing and cooling. Ice is optional.

Some doctors say that drinking iced πŸ’¦ water with lots of ice cubes actually doesn’t cool you off. They suggest room temperature or slightly chilled water with no ice is best! Interesting huh?

Keep cool 😎!

Life is kinda crazy these days!

Hasn’t it been for all of us?

I’m back from guest speaking in Las Vegas and all went beautifully. But I am STILL trying to recover from high temperatures, swollen ankles and the fun I had!

I got to unpack my bags this weekend and classroom supplies and enjoy a 4th of July with an intimate barbeque and yummy treats. I so appreciated the timing and safe return to have this long holiday weekend. After watching the news I am grateful I did not have any travel issues at two airports.

Yesterday I felt like whipping up a bath salt soak and I thought you might like to try to make this DIY too.

1 1/2 Tbsp. jojoba oil (as a carrier oil)

3-12 drops of lemon πŸ‹ essential oil (or grapefruit essential oil)

1 1/2 or 2 cups of Epsom salts

Use immediately or you must store in an airtight container. Will last safely a few days.

So refreshing and relaxing.

When life gives you a crazy schedule and you’re exhausted…

Take care of yourself with a 😎 Lemonade Lemon Bath πŸ›€ to soak in and just chill out!

Sip a glass of fresh lemonade or enjoy some Lemoncello. πŸ‹ and make your ME time bath even sweeter.

And don’t forget to add some mint to your drink or lemonade!

*Tweak this recipe as needed especially if you want to make more.

Note: if you are allergic to any of these ingredients don’t use them. Substitute for another ingredient.

Enjoy!

Clearing your space β€¦

Today I woke up at 5:20 AM as most of you I am restless and can’t seem to sleep 😴 in like I used to. I’m taking time this Labor Day to cook, cozy up to a few magazines and a good book πŸ“š and to clear my space.

Life has thrown so many curve balls at us and it is getting a bit tiring. Isn’t it? I so miss the good old days.

A few things I like to do in my home and office/ beauty business to purify my space and protect it too.

Playing music 🎢 really feeds the body, mind and spirit. I enjoy and have fallen in love ❀️ with the music 🎡 of George Skaroulis. My favorites are his Sanctuary and Sanctuary 2 CD’s I also love David Young’s Bliss. These both are BEAUTIful music, calming and relaxing. You can’t be in a bad mood anymore if you listen to them in your car or home or business.

Feed yourself with music. 🎢

Detoxify your space and your mind with a little meditation. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ Affirm with positive mantras. Create your own personal mantra. Repeat over and over.

Stressful job, a toxic relationship and our lives now in general can affect our digestive tract and adrenal glands. I like to start my day with a simple drink.

After I wake up I pour myself a glass of room temperature water πŸ’¦. Not cold or iced. Flush out your body and quench your thirst with water every morning.

I also alternate between these two drinks. Long known as a healthy and most beneficial plant 🌱 I love to sip aloe juice. One small glass in the morning will do. It helps your body detox too. I also surround my space and desk area with a small aloe plant.

Great to drink, great to grow and great for skin issues like burns in the kitchen or bathroom too.

Another drink I do more often is warm water with lemon πŸ‹ and ginger. Great for the digestive tract and immune boosting too.

Burn some incense a bay leaf or sage. Or all three in a week. They all protect your space and you as well as purify the air of negative energy.

Incense is my state of mind!
Oranges 🍊 rule!

The Chinese believe that oranges bring you abundance and protection. I’ll never forget the scents and sights of Hong Kong where the sandalwood incense perfumed the air and smelled so amazing. I also saw oranges everywhere in businesses, at temples and on tables in the home. They believe having bowls of oranges 🍊 in your home for you, your family and guests to enjoy. And they brighten your kitchen as well as bring you abundance and protection!

Who doesn’t want that?

So I hope you clear the air and clean your space with some of these small rituals I highly recommend.

Hope you have a beautiful end to your day wherever you live.

I remember the days…

When we served rose all day.

I miss seeing my clients in my makeup studio. I miss touching their faces! I miss giving them hugs too. Now with the pandemic things are so very different. I have NOT opened my beauty cottage YET. The Covid-19 numbers upticking here in Florida I don’t want to yet. I care about my clients safety and the health of my family.

I also remember the good old days when we would serve them all kinds of treats and drinks. From sugar cookies dipped in chocolate and lavender buds and chocolate dipped strawberries to sparkling drinks. Rose wine 🍷 was the last drink we served them in March.

Here is one of the recipes I enjoyed serving them. I thought you might enjoy this coming weekend. Or tonight!

Rose Sparkler with Raspberries and Lemons.

What you will need to make this refreshing drink:

1 bottle of chilled rose

1 1/2 pt. of fresh raspberries

2 tsp.of sugar

2 tbsp. of lemon juice

Sliced lemons and raspberries for embellishment!

Mash the raspberries with sugar and lemon juice in a pitcher. Top with sparkling rose. Serve over ice with the sliced lemons and raspberries.

When life gives you lots of πŸ‹ lemons…

My husband bought me not one but two lemon trees 🌳 a few months ago. I am enjoying my life with lemons so much! One tree is outside my business door and another is in my backyard.

So, I get creative and make things!

I usually kill plants cause I work so much in and out of town. But I am on a roll with aloe plants and lemon trees. They are not only surviving they are thriving!!!food healthy nature water

One of the things I have made is a Lemon Facial Toner.

If you want to make some for yourself or your clients here is a recipe.

What you will need is:

2 fresh lemons (lemon peels only)

1 cup of  bottled water

Place lemon peels in a pitcher. I prefer using a small glass one.

Add the water.

Cover and leave this mixture alone for at least 10 hours or overnight.

Strain the liquid through a coffee filter and pour into a clean and sterilized bottle. This refreshing toner will last up to two weeks.

Apply to your face with a flat cotton pad round.

Don’t use on acne or rosacea. Just to be on the age side.

Next up…Sparkling lemon water!

You don’t need to buy the lemon flavored sparkling water. You simply need sparkling water πŸ’¦ that you added lemon πŸ‹ slices too! So delightful and really quenches the thirst.

Serve in a wine goblet or antique shop glassware. Feel like royalty. My clients and family love this! And a fresh mint πŸƒ leaf for decor.

Lemons are so detoxifying and great for your health.

Hot Tea with a lemon wedge

Nothing like hot tea 🍡 with πŸ‹.

Now, traditionally I’m not talking Asian tea. I’m talking. Regular tea. And always served in a pretty cup.

Who doesn’t love πŸ’• to hear the sound of the saucer and cup clinking? Music 🎢 to my ears! And makes people feel so special while sipping away.

I hope you enjoy 😊 and add some lemons πŸ‹ to your day!

Aloha Detox

I love ❀️ to juice and to celebrate the beauty of juicing with my clients and friends. Lately, my clients are asking for my recipefor a DETOX juice. They want to look better in that teenie & not so teenie bikini πŸ‘™ and feel their best too. I am so thrilled to assist. I call this recipe Aloha Detox since I fell in love with exotic and beautiful Hawaii 🌴 and the pineapples and other fresh fruits and veggies there.

Wash and place all of the above in a juicer. I am addicted to a Jack La Lanne juicer.

Pour in a tall chilled glass and enjoy. By the way it is sweet and doen’t taste nasty or healthy at all! Enjoy this drink ANYTIME of year.

Cooling, hydrating, refreshing and detoxifying!
