Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat smell my feet give me something good to eat.

WOW! What a year and Halloween day and night it will be this year.

I love Halloween. It is the one day we can REALLY get creative, express ourselves, be someone else for a day. I love this day from the decor to the candy and the Trick Or Treaters I adore! I also love spooky movies! How about you?

Fun Fact:

I have had the pleasure of making up the one and only actress Linda Blair from the Exorcist! No, she wasn’t spinning her head and spitting up green and it wasn’t for the movie. It was for an event she was attending. She has an awesome heart ❤️ and Is a lovely woman. I will never forget meeting her!

Unfortunately, it isn’t going to be quite the same this year. I am so missing my clients presence and our party atmosphere at my beauty studio.

I will miss serving them Pretty Witches Brew Punch and bewitching and spooky edible delights.

Here is an easy recipes for a snack that my clients have enjoyed at my studio and you can enjoy with family, friends and clients too.

What you will need for this recipe:

Rice Chex cereal

Banana chips

Dried chopped pineapples

Dried cherries

Semisweet chocolate chips

All you need to do is place the above in a large serving bowl and stir together.

I usually eyeball measurements if you want more or less of one item versus another.

What you get is a healthy fruity combination,a dose of chocolate with the right amount of crunch!

And if you don’t feel like making this recipe above you can simply enjoy some store bought candy.

I hope whatever you do today you have some FUN!

Life is really yummy and so beautiful!

Candy Cane Lane

Have you gone down the candy aisle or shopped at one of Ralph Lauren’s daughter’s candy stores?

Candy canes are having a major moment right now. They come in so many hues and are so fun when used in a variety of delicious and decorative ways.

They come in so many colors and styles these days. I love to serve them to guests with milk, hot cocoa and crush them and sprinkle on top of cheesecake, cupcakes and more. I also enjoy serving my clients Candy Cane Lane hot Tea with a tiny candy cane hanging from inside the cup.

They seem to make people of all ages smile around this time of year especially.

One of my fave ways to keep it fun at my makeup studio is by making some special clients a fresh home-made lip treat. Peppermint candy canes work well and taste refreshing. But I am also over the moon with the other flavors and colors available today.

All you need for my recipe is…

  • 1 fresh jar of organic coconut oil (not used from your kitchen pantry)
  • A candy cane of your choice.

Using a kitchen mallot I crush the canes into tiny pieces but a few mini chunks work well and are visually appealing.

I then place a soup spoon (or fill with a 1/4 cup) of the coconut oil and place it in a microwave-safe small bowl. The amount of coconut oil depends on how much you want to make)

I sprinkle in a few pieces of the crushed candy cane.

I microwave for 50 seconds or less. I eyeball it. (Yes, you can do this on the stovetop but I like it this way too)

IF you want to have a peppermint kick add a dash of  food-grade peppermint oil.

Next, I take this mixture out of the microwave, stir a bit and let it cool very quickly and then place some of it in a small container. You will have leftovers depending on the size jar you use.

What you will have is a cool to the tongue and refreshing lipgloss or lip balm that is not only fun to make but this recipe is so EASY to do.

The shelf life isn’t months but more like a week or so but the feeling on dry winter lips and skin-softening will make you want to use it daily! Treat yourself or someone else this holiday season and keep those lips soft and kissable this cold winter!

Sometimes the best gifts are home-made and made with love!!! Don’t you agree?

Yummy 😋 Fiber Treats!

I love to engage and entertain my clients and I like to also do it with food. These energy bites are just the thing and the recipe ingredients boosts with fiber too. A friend of mine who is a guest Chef on TV Danette shared this oh so easy recipe with me. I hope you enjoy it too.

1 1/4 cups raw almonds

1 /14 cups dates (pitted)

1 Tbsp honey ( maybe a bit more)

Pinch of salt

Grind almonds and dates in food processor until fine ( a little coarse is ok, too) add honey and salt.

Process until well combined. …it should be sticky enough to form a ball.

Press down in a 8×8 pan lined with foil. Make sure to press down hard, so it really holds together. Let sit approx 1 hour.  Pull foil out of pan, and cut into squares.

If it needs more honey to stick together, that is fine. You could use more dates in beginning if you like.

Enjoy for yourself between services with your clients, serving to your clients, family or friends. YUM!
