Let’s talk facials …Down there!

I promised I would share with you from the show floor where I guest spoke in Chicago!

The Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Show never disappoints! Have you ever been?

Alongside the trends and services on the show floor Dermastart who talked Vajacials. caught my eye.

What are VAJACIALS you ask?

Vajacials are intimate facials for the vulva of the vagina, focusing on the bikini 👙 area and the outer labia.

A Vajacial service treats ingrown hair, removes dead skin cells, smooths bumps around the bikini line and helps to treat hyper-friction, aka discoloration.

All to maintain healthy and hydrated skin in the vaginal area. A woman’s sacred place.

A service at a spa near you!

The products they use for this service are as follows. Kinda love the names. 😉

*Hoo Haa cleanser

*Buff solution

*Phresh Peach 🍑 Enzyme

*Cool-Aid calming masque

*Pearly Polish

*Prickly Milk Serum

*AHA/BHA Refining mask

* An intimate ❤️ shaped sheet masque

ALL to give some love down there! Call me crazy or out if the loop but I had to look up and Google what does Hoo Haa even mean! Now I know. 😉

People were lined up to buy the kit and offer this service to their clients! Is this service for you?

Cardi B…

She may or may not be your cup of tea.

But this week rapper Cardi B reached out to her fans on social media for of all things …skin care tips! Along with skin care product recommendations.

She even shared pictures of her troubled skin. It wasn’t pretty! She mentioned ” This is my cheek…its been happening for like 3 months now. Shit really is uncomfortable.”

And she said according to her Twitter post: “That gave me some shit that dried out my face more and make me get more pours. They said it would take 3 months but I don’t got time for that and didn’t give a reason on why I am breaking out.”

What is wrong with this picture?

My thoughts as a beauty and skin professional…

ALWAYS seek a professional! That’s what they are for. They are trained professionals. Not fans. (While word of mouth recommendations are fine and work out some time.) And one consult may not be enough. If one Doctor doesn’t work for you try another. And remember not all skin issues are acne or the same. A few clogged pores does not mean it is acne!

Patience is key when being treated by a Dr. or esthetician.

Book an appointment with a dermatologist!

They can’t help you unless you go to see them and have them look at your skin. Cardi B’s skin could have been on its way to looking better and healthier if she just made that call and see another doctor if she felt she was not getting results.

Dermatologists nowadays are also retailing skin care not just injectionbles and Botox but professional medical grade skin care. There are many reasons why the skin can have issues. Hormones, diet, stress, overkill of makeup, going to sleep with makeup still on.

Maybe the current skin care you use needs a refresh!

Maybe what you are using isn’t working for you anymore. Time to try something NEW. A makeup artist, skin care expert or dermatologist or plastic surgeons office can recommend a line and plan for you.

Facials are your skins best friend!

Or book an appointment with an esthetician to look at your skin and get a consultation and a deep cleansing facial. They work wonders.

So I’ll end with this message never wait for weeks or months!

If you see something … do something!

There is help! There are answers. Clear up NOT cover up and be patient.

Multi-masking works magic on the skin!

Two of my fav’ recipes for a Multi-Masking are below.

My clients often say they have very sensitive skin so for them to love the skin and face they own I like to mix and match face masks. Customizing by hand is so much fun!

I like to make one mask for the T-zone and maybe another on the cheeks. It just depends on what the skin is doing and looking like.

Being Eurasian and love all things Asian. I love  to use Matcha Powder and a dash of fresh aloe from my outdoor garden or window garden.

What you will need is:

1 teaspoon of matcha powder

3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (from the plant)

Stir the two together. Apply on a clean face.

Leave on at least 15 minutes and rinse with luke warm water and a wash cloth.

The skin will love it!

Lavender Bud Pore Refining Clay Mask

1 teaspoon of bentonite clay

A dash of water say 1/3 of a cup (I eyeball)

A few pieces of lavender buds

Mix all together and make a liquidy paste-like mask.

Apply on a clean face. This aromatherapy mask and clay will make the pores more refined and temporarily tighten the skin.

Leave on the face at least 10-15 minutes. Rinse well 🧽 . Next use your skin toner on a cotton pad and a dash of moisturizer.

The skin will look amazing and the lavender scent will smell and be so relaxing while it dries.

Use on your skin or on your clients.

Take care of your face. It’s the only one you’ve got!

PS

These recipes are from my beauty book coming out in 2020. I hope you’ll enjoy them and stay tuned for more.
