Quench your Skin!

With this!

I love eating πŸ‰ watermelon day or night. It just is so refreshing and I love the way it feels on the tongue. Every juicy bite is a delight!

I also love ❀️ to use it in summer πŸ₯— salads.

COOL Watermelon πŸ₯₯ Pick Me Up

What you will need for this drink:

1 cup of coconut water

1 SPARKLING water

Juice of one lime

Mashup or muddle a few fresh mint leaves πŸƒ

1/2 cup of cucumber πŸ₯’ peeled and sliced into thin rounds. Not chunky.

Place mixture in a blender or in a couple of tall glasses filled with ice.

Add a 1/2 cup of sparkling water πŸ’¦ into each glass.

Garnish with whatever you’d like. Mint leaves, cucumber slice or a tropical 🌴 drink umbrella.

Another way I like to serve watermelon juice is fresh squeezed from a blender and sometimes I like to add a spray of whip cream on top!

You haven’t lived until you tasted watermelon juice with whip cream on top! Crazy good.

Before the pandemic I served this to my clients in shot glasses. Just a taste! What a fun summer treat.

So refreshing and delicious.

Make a toast and drink your way to glowy skin!

πŸ‰Did you know Asian women love to eat watermelon?

AND… Some woman and their daughters have been taught by their elders how to use the rind inside after you eat it and rub it on clean skin. They feel it makes their skin feel and look amazing.

Try it you just might like it!

Hope you’re having an awesome summer! πŸ–

Time To Celebrate!πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’„

This is one of my absolute favorite days of the year!

It is National Lipstick day!

Photo by Rodolfo Clix on Pexels.com

What color are you wearing today? Are you a lipstick girl or a glossy liquid lipstick girl?

I truly believe and my signature mantra is: β€œ A day without lipstick is like a day without sunshine”

What’s hot in the world of lipstick πŸ’„πŸ’‹?

πŸ’‹Lipstick in general from soft to bold hues. Women are starting to pull out those lipstick tubes! Lip stains rule!

πŸ’‹Lip conditioners and lip balms are HOT!! These face masks are making our lips dry as ever.

πŸ’‹ Lip masks are HOT too! From Korea, Hong Kong and now made in the USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ these masks are little miracle workers.

πŸ’‹ The dark trimmed lip liner is out. Invisible or Nearly Nude are IN!

πŸ’‹ Lip Exfoliators are a skin care necessity!

πŸ’‹ if you vape or smoke cigarettes 🚬 maybe you want to give that a rest and rethink it. If you want your lips to look prettier and more youthful and kissable. You need to do the right thing. Each puff makes you wrinkle more! Day after day! Really!

πŸ’‹ Wearing sunscreen on your face is a must. Also… pay particular attention to and protect the tissue on the upper lip area and chin from 🌞 sunburn and wrinkling!

πŸ’‹ Honey 🍯 is a delicious and cheap lip treatment. It can be used on the lips only or all over the face!!

πŸ’‹Lip brushes make your lipstick look better and your tube last longer. It is a makeup artists fave brush.

Do you have a passion for lipstick like I do? Share with me. I’d love ❀️ to know your go to. Fave color and why you love lipstick?

Have a fabulous National Lipstick Day! πŸ’„πŸ’‹

Our Bodies Need Some LOVE!

At times like these we need to take care of our immune system and body too. Since it is summer and we shed our clothes and show more skin we need to also slough off dead skin cells. As well as hydrate the skin on our face and body too. One of my clients shared this recipe with me a long time ago. And I recently discovered it in my pandemic cleaning purge of some paper work etc.

I almost forgot how much I like this recipe alongside eating a bowl of oats or granola with home-made yogurt and fruit in season. To make home-made from scratch yogurt I use Belle + Bella. They have an amazing starter packet and unit to make it. It is fun and when i have leftovers (right) instead of licking the spoon I use the fresh yogurt on my face for a gentle neck and face mask.

What you will need for this hand or body recipe:

1 cup of olive oil

1/2 cup of ground up organic oats

1 tbs. vanilla

1 tablespoon of maple syrup

She stirsΒ  in all ingredients and suggests you take some time in the tub.

Place a handful of the mix onto your body. She recommends paying close attention to rough areas like, elbows, knees, hands and feet. Allow the scrub to rest on your skin. Next she recommends rubbing with warm water and a washcloth or a loofah sponge.

Rinse well.

After you get out of the tub. Dry your skin slightly and while damp apply your favorite hand and body lotion.

Your skin will feel soft and fresh you’ll feel brand new!

I remember the days…

When we served rose all day.

I miss seeing my clients in my makeup studio. I miss touching their faces! I miss giving them hugs too. Now with the pandemic things are so very different. I have NOT opened my beauty cottage YET. The Covid-19 numbers upticking here in Florida I don’t want to yet. I care about my clients safety and the health of my family.

I also remember the good old days when we would serve them all kinds of treats and drinks. From sugar cookies dipped in chocolate and lavender buds and chocolate dipped strawberries to sparkling drinks. Rose wine 🍷 was the last drink we served them in March.

Here is one of the recipes I enjoyed serving them. I thought you might enjoy this coming weekend. Or tonight!

Rose Sparkler with Raspberries and Lemons.

Yummy!

Yesterday I went grocery πŸ›’ shopping…we put it off and couldn’t wait any longer.

It it is a battleground out there for food and drink! I couldn’t find so many things and we paid a fortune for paper towels! $22.00 for six rolls πŸ’΄

I wanted coconut water πŸ’¦ but could not find any. So, I decided to make it at home. I was craving all things coconut, like a coconut granola mix, coconut πŸ₯₯ and aΓ§aΓ bowl and coconut water.

I also love the coconut chips from Trader Joe’s… they are delicious to snack on and remind me of my time spent in Hawaii.

I loved the quaint little stands in the roadside that sold them fresh and twisted from the

A healthy DIY and hydration ritual you’ll so enjoy!

Add ice to a pretty tall glass of it and maybe float a cherry πŸ’ on top and enjoy!

When life gives you lots of πŸ‹ lemons…

My husband bought me not one but two lemon trees 🌳 a few months ago. I am enjoying my life with lemons so much! One tree is outside my business door and another is in my backyard.

So, I get creative and make things!

I usually kill plants cause I work so much in and out of town. But I am on a roll with aloe plants and lemon trees. They are not only surviving they are thriving!!!food healthy nature water

One of the things I have made is a Lemon Facial Toner.

If you want to make some for yourself or your clients here is a recipe.

What you will need is:

2 fresh lemons (lemon peels only)

1 cup of  bottled water

Place lemon peels in a pitcher. I prefer using a small glass one.

Add the water.

Cover and leave this mixture alone for at least 10 hours or overnight.

Strain the liquid through a coffee filter and pour into a clean and sterilized bottle. This refreshing toner will last up to two weeks.

Apply to your face with a flat cotton pad round.

Don’t use on acne or rosacea. Just to be on the age side.

Next up…Sparkling lemon water!

You don’t need to buy the lemon flavored sparkling water. You simply need sparkling water πŸ’¦ that you added lemon πŸ‹ slices too! So delightful and really quenches the thirst.

Serve in a wine goblet or antique shop glassware. Feel like royalty. My clients and family love this! And a fresh mint πŸƒ leaf for decor.

Lemons are so detoxifying and great for your health.

Hot Tea with a lemon wedge

Nothing like hot tea 🍡 with πŸ‹.

Now, traditionally I’m not talking Asian tea. I’m talking. Regular tea. And always served in a pretty cup.

Who doesn’t love πŸ’• to hear the sound of the saucer and cup clinking? Music 🎢 to my ears! And makes people feel so special while sipping away.

I hope you enjoy 😊 and add some lemons πŸ‹ to your day!

Candy Cane Lane

Have you gone down the candy aisle or shopped at one of Ralph Lauren’s daughter’s candy stores?

Candy canes are having a major moment right now. They come in so many hues and are so fun when used in a variety of delicious and decorative ways.

They come in so many colors and styles these days. I love to serve them to guests with milk, hot cocoa and crush them and sprinkle on top of cheesecake, cupcakes and more. I also enjoy serving my clients Candy Cane Lane hot Tea with a tiny candy cane hanging from inside the cup.

They seem to make people of all ages smile around this time of year especially.

One of my fave ways to keep it fun at my makeup studio is by making some special clients a fresh home-made lip treat. Peppermint candy canes work well and taste refreshing. But I am also over the moon with the other flavors and colors available today.

All you need for my recipe is…

  • 1 fresh jar of organic coconut oil (not used from your kitchen pantry)
  • A candy cane of your choice.

Using a kitchen mallot I crush the canes into tiny pieces but a few mini chunks work well and are visually appealing.

close up photo of person holding candy
Photo by Kristina Paukshtite on Pexels.com

I then place a soup spoon (or fill with a 1/4 cup) of the coconut oil and place it in a microwave-safe small bowl. The amount of coconut oil depends on how much you want to make)

I sprinkle in a few pieces of the crushed candy cane.

I microwave for 50 seconds or less. I eyeball it. (Yes, you can do this on the stovetop but I like it this way too)

IF you want to have a peppermint kick add a dash of  food-grade peppermint oil.

Next, I take this mixture out of the microwave, stir a bit and let it cool very quickly and then place some of it in a small container. You will have leftovers depending on the size jar you use.

What you will have is a cool to the tongue and refreshing lipgloss or lip balm that is not only fun to make but this recipe is so EASY to do.

The shelf life isn’t months but more like a week or so but the feeling on dry winter lips and skin-softening will make you want to use it daily! Treat yourself or someone else this holiday season and keep those lips soft and kissable this cold winter!

Sometimes the best gifts are home-made and made with love!!! Don’t you agree?

Multi-masking works magic on the skin!

Two of my fav’ recipes for a Multi-Masking are below.

My clients often say they have very sensitive skin so for them to love the skin and face they own I like to mix and match face masks. Customizing by hand is so much fun!

I like to make one mask for the T-zone and maybe another on the cheeks. It just depends on what the skin is doing and looking like.

Being Eurasian and love all things Asian. I loveΒ  to use Matcha Powder and a dash of fresh aloe from my outdoor garden or window garden.

What you will need is:

1 teaspoon of matcha powder

3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (from the plant)

Stir the two together. Apply on a clean face.

Leave on at least 15 minutes and rinse with luke warm water and a wash cloth.

The skin will love it!

Lavender Bud Pore Refining Clay Mask

1 teaspoon of bentonite clay

A dash of water say 1/3 of a cup (I eyeball)

A few pieces of lavender buds

Mix all together and make a liquidy paste-like mask.

Apply on a clean face. This aromatherapy mask and clay will make the pores more refined and temporarily tighten the skin.

Leave on the face at least 10-15 minutes. Rinse well 🧽 . Next use your skin toner on a cotton pad and a dash of moisturizer.

The skin will look amazing and the lavender scent will smell and be so relaxing while it dries.

Use on your skin or on your clients.

Take care of your face. It’s the only one you’ve got!

PS

These recipes are from my beauty book coming out in 2020. I hope you’ll enjoy them and stay tuned for more.
