Merry 🎄Christmas, Happy Chanukah 🕎 and …

Whatever you celebrate I wish you a beautiful day and holiday season.

I’m back and have a chance to breathe and slow down. Wow! What a whirlwind it has been on my end. It’s truly called “holidaze” for a reason.

I loved helping my clients shop for the holidays and to treat themselves and shop for someone else. I love ❤️ serving them a glass of bubbly or champagne and serve them some healthy yummy bites like Brie and vegetables, nuts and fruit. A few sweets on the side can’t hurt.

I also love to make them laugh and put a smile 😊 on their face! One idea I love to do when entertaining is this…

Looking for a few good men?

My clients and friends are too.

I love serving them gingerbread men on a silver platter. I brand I love ❤️ and is so delicious is from the Stauffer Biscuit Company I found at the Dollar General store. But I ’m sure other stores carry them. I am picky about the taste of my gingerbread men and brand.

Only the best for my clients and friends!

On display I place a sign that reads “ Looking for a few good men” next to the silver platter of gingerbread cookies. They get such a kick out of it. Sometimes the simplest things are the best!

I also like to make my home smell amazing with a tease of the scent of gingerbread. Since I’m not baking gingerbread cookies from scratch the house does not smell like them but you can make an Aromatic Holiday Elixir in your home by simmering a pot of this.

What you will need for this fragrant DIY is:

A few drops of gingerbread essential oil

1 small orange sliced

2 cinnamon sticks

1 sprinkle of nutmeg

Add to a small saucepan filled with water. Place on low heat. Simmer away.

Your home 🏡 will smell awesome and feel cozy too!

Serve some hot cocoa and you’re all set. Marshmallows on top of course and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.

I hope you enjoy these ideas! All the decorations, twinkling lights, eat yummy things and have fun 🤩 with friends and family. Life isn’t quite the same anymore but we have so much to be grateful for!

Life happens!

Oh how I have missed YOU and blogging too! I know I’ve been “missing in action”. It is so unlike me not to post as I love sharing all things beauty, travel and foodie with you.

I have been traveling ✈️ for work and play. Puerto Rico, California, Palm Beach 🏝 Florida. Oh what glorious fun! When I work I always fit in time to enjoy a city and add a day or two of adventure and fun!

But with travel and a busy schedule comes a chance of getting a cold or worse. So I started to get symptoms of a cold. I went to the doctor right away to nip it! They gave me cough medicine and antibiotics. It’s wasn’t fun! But it wasn’t Covid or the flu that is going around.

After that came an unexpected late in the season hurricane in 🌴Florida! All whirling around while I was sick in bed.

I had to get back to work as soon as I could for Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday days at my beauty bungalow. So I did but then who knew? I’d be bit by three angry WASPS 🐝 three different days. My leg swelled like a killer whale. I was limping with laryngitis too as the upper respiratory infection wasn’t done with me too!

My husband loved that part! All I could do was squeak. So tough!

So you see I’ve really been through hell and back. I’m tired from all the medications and trying to work and keep it all together. I have to take care of my clients and their holiday shopping needs with my Beauty Elves at my business.

I do want to share some beauty & foodie recipes with you but I’ve got to work. I have not even begun Christmas & Chanukah shopping yet. How about you? Are you in a holidaze and going crazy right now too?

If you are… I hear you and am right there with you! Hang in there.

A few self care gifts for yourself or someone else…

With a peppermint twist!

Heading into Christmas and wrapping up Channukah we are surrounded by all things peppermint. I love peppermint do you?

Around this time of year we enjoy serving my clients at my beauty studio all kinds of yummy drinks and things around peppermint. We also love making small gifts for our clients that they can take home with them and enjoy.

But now with the pandemic we can’t really do all things as usual. But I can still share these entertaining and pampering gift ideas 🎁 with you.

Just for fun …hang a candy cane on drink glasses like eggnog, hot cocoa, milk or even a glass of pink champagne. Festive and cute!

Kids version: Kids love it hanging on a mug of hot chocolate, milk, fruit punch and or pink lemonade

Peppermint ice cream. Sometime is so HARD TO FIND. Or simply sold out! So, one day I decided to just make it on my own. Makes a fun hostess or Holiday gift too. All you need is a gallon of vanilla ice cream. Buy some mini candy canes and smash them with a meat tenderizer. Mix in to the slightly melted ice cream. Place the mixture into a festive colored or designed Tupperware or freezer ware. Place an unwrapped mini candy cane to the top of the ice cream and freeze. Sort of like the cherry on top.

Make some massage oil by infusing around 3 drops or more of peppermint essential oil to some almond oil or jojoba. Double up with more oil for a larger bottle. I like to make mini versions.Fill in a bottle with a pour out spout if possible. Give as a gift saying what it is and directions on how to use it.

Use peppermint oil in a foot bath and turn your bathroom into a spa. Fill a basin with warm to hot water, add a cup of Epsom salts and sprinkle in a few drops of peppermint oil. Peppermint is known for its energizing properties and is a refreshing pick me up for tired feet and legs. If you stand a lot for your job this is a great treat year round. You can bottle some Epsom salts with peppermint essential oil, tie a ribbon on and give as a gift too!

Have allergies, want to purify the air or staying indoors more now that the weather is colder and winter arrives tomorrow! Invest in a soothing aromatherapy lamp. Finding one that that changes colors is life changing. So pretty to look at and relax to. Really helps with your mood and stress. The rainbow of shades illuminate the room while the peppermint oil helps with allergens in the air. I own and love the lamp by CHI (Yes, the iconic hair brand makes one) This makes a fabulous gift too.

I wish you a delightful and refreshing peppermint candy cane kind day!

I wish you a Merry Christmas! 🎄

I hope it was an amazing Holiday season for you and your spa or beauty business! Mine was going well until the FLU 😷 arrived. Thank goodness we were able to make it to at least the week before the Christmas finish line. We worked our tails off. We answered many calls for Mail Orders and gift 🎁 order requests.

We served yummy and cozy drinks 🍹 and decadent edibles while they shopped.

We offered free gift wrap, gift cards and a holiday discount for our VIP mailing list clients.

We had two weekend Open House celebrations 🎉 and the clients and my team loved spending time with our clients and so enjoy helping them shop for their gift giving needs.

Next on to wrapping up the year and a New Years Eve toast email to THANK our clients for their business.

Afterwards… Closed for Inventory and a little R & R.

Hope you get a chance to rest a bit and enjoy your family and friends or just being alone. Tomorrow is a brand new day and soon we will start a brand new year!

Taking one day at a time in bed. This flu shall pass. Next time I will not skip getting the flu shot. You’re never so busy you can’t make time to take care of yourself. As a business owner I will remember my own wellness advice.

Blessings 🙏 to you!

Jingle Bells Lipstick Sells!

If you want to increase those holiday sales for the Holiday season starting with Black Friday you need to carry lipsticks!!!

Most spas and salons don’t and that is a BIG mistake as far as I am concerned. If you don’t carry lipsticks they are going elsewhere to buy it after they leave your business.woman with brown hair doing lipstick and holding little mirror

To get started all you need are a few colors of lipstick, a clear lipgloss and a lip liner or two. TESTERS are the key to sales. If they can’t try them. They may not want to buy one.

Offer, hand sanitizer, plenty of tissues and a disposable lip brushes.

Keep your makeup area immaculate. Cleaning up after every client is important.

During the holidays and winter lip conditioners, balms and clear glosses sell. But RED lipstick comes out of hiding and reigns supreme!

When applying lipstick there are a few points I would like to make:

First teach your clients exfoliation of the lips is key. Either with a lip scrub off  your shelves or a teaspoon of brown sugar and a dash of olive oil. Oh so exfoliating and soothing and makes the lipstick glide on like silk.

Fair skin: The complexion is prone to redness and may be very sensitive. Look for sheer, blue based reds. These hues don’t look over the top and too bold against pale skin.

Olive skin: This warm undertone complexion can pull off almost any color! RED included.

Dark skin: This hue can be warm or cool. If the skin has golden tones (think Halle Berry), choose reds with a brown base like brick red, cinnamon and such. Is the skin darker and more blue-based go for deep ruby with a hint of pink. Cherry or a burgundy.

Let the lips be the center of attention!  Lipstick is an instant face lift…don’t forget that!

Even if your clients say they don’t wear makeup…Don’t let that stop you from painting her pout and most likely selling her a bodacious lipstick!

Pretty Lips = Happy Clients!
