HOT weather Makeup Tips!

As a professional makeup artist I have learned so much working in and out of the studio and on photo shoots outdoors.

Here a few makeup tricks and tips I think you’ll enjoy doing!

Drinks on the beach 🏖 or at a beach bar or enjoying a beautiful sunset with your sweetie I know you want to look good! And maybe sexy too.

Prepping your bare eyelids with a smidge of petroleum jelly will turn powder shadows into a shimmery cream eyeshadow. It also helps powder eyeshadows last when hotter weather has arrived. Brides getting married outside love this trick too.

A creamy balm like SPF applied first and then a dash of powder blush on your finger…. Makes a lasting gorgeous glow blush look.

Don’t want your lips to fade and make the pigment also last longer? Apply a creamy balm on your lips first . Next add a swipe of color. Do not rub your lips 👄 together.

Want the definition of mascara without the run and raccoon look? Simply use a clear mascara or buy a tubing mascara like the brand Blinc it is an amazing mascara. Give it a whirl.

Summer is coming! Try and keep cool and look good with these tips.

And don’t forget your sunscreen!

Tan,Brown,or Black Girls and the SUN

As a beauty professional living in sunny 🌞 Florida I want to  remind you if you’ve got dark skin you may be tempted to skip the sunscreen. But please don’t!

Brown, tan or black girls get sunburn too You can still develop skin cancer as UV rays can give you a sunburn, saggy skin, premature wrinkles and dark spots.

Also did you know you can get skin cancer on your scalp too? Stay protected.

For a beautiful even toned complexion you need to wear a sunscreen!

SPF 15 or higher and with UVA and UVB protection no matter what shade of brown you are. And no matter where you are at an outside cafe or on the beach. Wear it and a lip balm too.

NO Sunscreen…makes me want to scream!

Just a reminder…Our clients can never be told this enough. “PLEASE wear sunscreen.”Sunscreen beach 2014 photo.JPG

In the past few weeks I have seen all kinds of sunburns and skin damage from the sun. I feel for the people from children to adults. RED as a beet!

I so LOVE the sun shining and miss it on a cloudy day. BUT.

I really and truly have learned since I moved for my husband from NYC to Florida that it is dangerous living here as we live so close to those beating rays. Oh and I do enjoy a bit of time in the sun walking on the beach and anyhere else. But I respect my body too much to bake my skin and body like a dozen cookies on a oven tray!!!

So as a skin cancer melanoma survivor...Take the time to share your skin care and makeup secrets and put sunscreen at the top of the list. Also remind your clients to see the dermatologist once a year for skin checkups.

Like I’ve done…you could just save another life! Or two!
