Farmer’s Market BEAUTY

Oh how I love to go to the Farmer’s Market and spread my shopping LOVE.

I also love the crunch and goodness of an apple. I like the green apples. But red are delicious too.You know what they say “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

I even scoop up and eat the rest of the apple left from making this mask.

Here is a recipe a client shared with me for a mask I have enjoyed for years. I like to use it on the face and neck especially around this time of apple picking year.

What you need to Make DIY this face mask:

1 fresh apple grated or pureed

2 Tbsp of crushed oats

Photo by Polina Tankilevitch on Pexels.com

1 Tsp of organic honey

Put all the above in a small bowl. Apply it to a clean face with clean hands or a facial mask brush. It may be a little messy for you. But so worth it. If you want to make it more moist add some bottled (not tap) water for a creamier consistency.

Leave this recipe mix on the face at least 15 minutes.

Beauty benefits include a gentle exfoliation while the apple and honey leave the skin hydrated, plump and glowing.

Please note: IF you are allergic to any of these ingredients do not use the ingredient you might be allergic to.

This natural face mask is great for normal to combination skin.

Enjoy!

LOVE natural & organic?

Have you explored C Beauty?

I like to experiment alongside my staff and sisters all kinds of beauty, skincare and beauty tools. Now during this time in our life even more! We HAVE the time.

So I have been experimenting with a few NEW brands of sheet masks and skincare. I came across a line called INNA Organic. I know the consumer is by now aware of K Beauty which is from South Korea. J Beauty which is beauty from Japan.

But C Beauty has been heading toward us more and more and ready for you too to explore!

When I think of Frankincense …

I think of the holiday season and the Three Kings visiting the manger bearing gifts. I don’t think of it as an ingredient in an eye mask. But am I in love! So refreshing and revitalizing. This mask delivers a powerful beauty punch! I like to use the small side of the roller and roll in it’s juiciness (Is that even a word?) to my under eye area. I also enjoy them to start the day or to party away at night (Can’t wait to do that again).

Moisturizing and anti-oxidant rich. They don’t just make eye and face masks either.

Here are a few points from the brand. I couldn’t say it any better. If you’re looking for a brand that is ALL these things below…you’ve found it!

  • It helps with fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness. Eye area felt smoother and looked brighter after one use. Really!
  • Crafted from certified-organic cotton, woven into a soft and comfortable sheet mask. The mask can soak up all the potent botanical serum. Not a single drop is wasted.
  • EWG and COSMOS certified organic. 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.
  • Formulated without parabens, silicones, sulfates (SLS/SLES), and artificial fragrances.
  • Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

It is Self Care Sunday…

What are you doing for your face and body today?

We like to do herbal and floral infusions facial steaming in my beauty business. One of our favorites is to use fresh lemongrass from an Asian grocery store or farmers market. Our clients love ❤️ our recipes that we share and that they can do in the kitchen of their home.

You might like them too!

All you need is:

A stalk of Lemongrass

A pot of water 💦

In a large pot ( like your making pasta) bring at least two quarts of water to a boil.

Add a few cut pieces of the lemongrass to the hot water.

Remove pot from heat.

Stir the lemongrass and water mix.

Allow to cool a few minutes.

Pour the water into into a glass bowl.

Get a large hand towel or bath towel.

Pull up a comfy chair and sit.

Drape the towel over your head. Allow the steam to rise to your face. Make a tent over your head.

*Please note:

If you get hot and need some fresh air pull back the towel. Get that fresh air and cool off a bit.

Lean over and allow the steam to rise to your face. Be careful and bear in mind you will get a bit hot and steamy.

Do this facial steam for at least 5 minutes.

The scent of the lemongrass will be refreshing and aromatic. Lemongrass is Known to cone from Asia and Africa. People use it for delicious culinary use. It also has medicinal benefits. We like it to season our soup, make a tea but for this DIY we like it for its aromatic properties for the steam.

After you are done… rinse your face with Luke warm water and a face wash. Add a dash of moisturizer and your skin will feel great and the steam will have gently loosened up dead skin and you’ll have happy happy cleaner pores.

Let me know what you like to use in your facial steam? Essential oils? 🌿 Herbs? Flowers?

Drink it Up!

It’s good to the last drop.

Smoothies are delicious and so easy to make. I like to drink them for different reasons and what they do for my body and skin.

I have served this to my clients and enjoy its deliciousness too.

What you will need:

1/2 cup of pomegranate juice (unsweetened)

1/2 cup of soy milk

1/2 cup of blueberries (fresh or unsweetened frozen)

1 tbsp lecithin granules

1 tbsp ground flaxseed

2 tbsp dried goji berries

3 to 4 ice cubes or crushed ice (optional)

❤️ This recipe is from one of our skincare icons Dr Howard Murad founder of Murad Skin Research Laboratory. In my years guest speaking across the country at spa and beauty conferences he lectures too. He’s a very kind and brilliant doctor.

Artificial sweetener (optional)

Place all ingredients in a blender, liquefy. ENJOY!

It addresses cellulite and for the skin on the body to look better too but I drink it for it’s anti-aging properties to make my skin BETTER and look younger doesn’t hurt either. Incorporated into a healthy diet. It can make a big difference in the skins appearance.

I LOVE Pumpkins!

I love pumpkins to decorate with,in drinks and in food. I also love to create recipes for my face and body with this DIY combination of a mask like scrub especially around this time of year. I also make a smoothie with pumpkins and add a collagen powder to them. Both make a powerhouse drink for my skin.

I LOVE sharing recipes for food and more with my clients in my beauty business.

You too can enjoy this recipe and share with your clients, friends and family.

This recipe smells amazing, gently exfoliates and feels good.

*Sometimes I switch it up with buttermilk or pumpkin spice seasoning instead too. If you want to make more add more to each step.

What you will need to make this face treat:

4 tsp of canned or fresh pumpkin

3 tbsp of milk

1 tsp honey

2 Tsp of fine coconut sugar (or brown sugar)

After you whisk or mix the above ingredients apply to your face and neck.

Leave on at least 15 minutes.

Next wet your clean fingers and go in circular motions on the skin. Buffing away dull tired skin.

Rinse well and follow up with a moisturizer and eye cream.

Pumpkins do so much to nourish the skin and this is a great treat from the inside of your body and topically applied.

Beauty Must Have…

Anybody who knows me knows I am in LOVE with and adore all things lips 👄 and lipstick. As a beauty and skin professional I like to and NEED to stay informed. So, in scrolling away I did a little research and discovered this beauty gem.

PMD Kiss System

This system is a smart anti-aging lip plumping treatment that gives you those pretty rosy lips like when you were a child or girl growing up. It uses a pulsating vacuum technology and a specially formulated serum to create a fuller appearance of lip volume says the company and I truly agree. The company recommends you use it daily to boost collagen and create long lasting plumped up results.

It is lightweight, travels well on the road trip or in your purse and has everything you need.

A small Kisser

A large Kisser

A Lip plumping serum

A Kissfoliator (wish I created that cute name)

The top two are the Kisser tips. Both and I tested both tips and decided the small one was shaped just right for fitting my lips.

It has two treatment speeds.

If that wasn’t enough it also has a Kissfoliator to kickstart those dry lips (now even more since we are using face mask 😷 covers) This device head tip removes dead skin cells gently by using an anti-bacterial aluminum oxide crystals for smooth kissable lips! My second fav’ thing with my lips!

I love the way it pulsates and has a vacuum technology that when you are using it it makes a KISS sound. Like you are really kissing!!! Too cute.

I love the way it boosts collagen production and the appearance of fine lines. While I don’t have those lines YET I am happy to be pro-active and helping my lips 👄 look the best they can be.

NO surgery for ME!

* Bonus… each box contains two hydrating lip sheet masks.

Worth a look… if you’re in the business of beauty or not. You NEED this in your beauty world. I’m telling all my clients about it!

Concealer 101

Photo by Ali Pazani on Pexels.com

Tired of looking tired during this pandemic OR are your clients?

Here are some concealing and eye tricks you won’t be able to resist.

Puffiness:

Cold spoons 🥄, jade eye and face rollers work and so do a salmon or yellow tint concealer. Don’t put the concealer right on the puffy part under the eyes but underneath the puff. Use sparingly. Blend well.

*Please note: if you use a light or lighter concealer it will brighten that area and make the puff more prominent. So apply concealer in the crease under the eye below the puff or bag. It will look more flawless and seamless.

Darker Circles:

Creamy concealers work better to cover pigmentation than liquid ones. Keep concealer from creasing by using a damp makeup sponge to apply and tap on not rub in. Stop just short of the lower lash line. If you prefer to use a camouflage brush use it to apply and the damp sponge too.

Redness:

Most of us have redness or dark shadows /circles around and below the inner corners of the eyes. When applying concealer here blend it down the sides of your nose so it blends in and not obvious.

Dark circles and puffy tired eyes ❤️ love

A cooling treat with a bag of peas from the fridge! Peas? Yes, please. You can choose any other fruit or veggie bag. Simply place over your closed puffy tired eyes and rest for at least 10 minutes.

Watery OR red looking eyes:

Tired, dark circled watery eyes needs eye brightening eye drops or an over the counter allergy medicine.

As you can see its not always about covering things up!

I hope you use some of these little tricks!

Did you know?

Beauty Trick for your nails.

All this hand washing is not so good for your hands. Your cuticles are dry and needing some love. A “natural” alternative to using an actual store bought nail product for cuticles is sunflower 🌻 oil, avocado 🥑 oil or olive oils.

They give instant shine and soften up that dry, cracking, red skin around the nail bed. Use as a nightly ritual on naked nails or OVER a coat of nail polish.

Refreshes the toes too!

Yes, it can!

It was another long holiday weekend and It was time to do something fun! But since we can’t get out like we usually do we have to do things that make us happy at home too.

Since March I have not touched a face. My beauty cottage is open for pickup orders at our door. And we are happily shipping mail orders. I’m doing virtual events and have already begun getting ready for the holiday season. Yes, it’s important to think about that as business owners.

But back to the fun part! I took some time to enjoy giving myself a natural and Gentle exfoliating facial at home. And I made this tropical drink.

Anti-inflammatory,digestive support and refreshing in a smoothie and as a facial on your face!

Pineapples 🍍 rock!

I love natural beauty and since our immune systems need to stay strong in this time of Covid-19. I’m trying to keep my husband and I and family healthy. In my business I usually serve juice shots which are fresh made juice mini serving drinks. One of my all time fave’s is with pineapple.

Here is what I do for my skin. I cleanse the skin and apply slices of the pineapple directly to the skin. I leave it on the skin at least 20 minutes. Next I rinse my skin and follow up with a rosewater skin toner. It is just a gentle exfoliant and a quick fix on the cheap!

Sipping Pineapple 🍍 Tropical 🌴 Smoothie

Here’s what you will need:

1 cup of fresh or frozen pineapple

1 1/2 cups of coconut 🥥 water

1/2 cup of coconut milk in a can

1 cup of frozen Pitaya dragon fruit

1 cup of frozen peaches

A dash of honey if you’d like!

Place all of the above in your blender. Blend until it’s creamy and dreamy. Sometimes I add a zest or dash of the juice of a lemon or lime.

Adding ice cubes is optional.

Add a drink umbrella ⛱ and you’re all set!

I hope you’ll try my drink recipe and or this easy twist on a facial

FYI

If you are allergic to pineapples OR anything else in this recipe in this recipe…please do not use them.
